Employment Position:
Bob is a Shareholder and President of the Firm.

Areas of Concentration:
Bob is a transactions lawyer. Although Bob has a diverse practice and serves a wide range of the firm’s clients, he concentrates his practice in the following areas:
   Real Estate Transactions and Development
   Estate Planning and Administration
   Business Transactions
   Tax Matters.

Bar Admissions:
Bob is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, as well as the U.S. Tax Court.

Peer Review:
Bob has an AV Rating from Martindale Hubble, has been listed in Best Lawyers of America for over 25 years, and is recognized as a Wisconsin “Super Lawyer” in real estate from 2007 through 2009. He is also a charter member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

Education:
A graduate of Marquette University Law School, Bob received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Professional and Community Involvement:
As an active participant in the State Bar of Wisconsin, Bob is a board member (and past Chair) of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. Bob is a former board member and past Chair of the Taxation Section and is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars.

Bob is also a member of the board of directors of the Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball District, which is the state governing board for Miller Park, the home field of the Milwaukee Brewers. Bob is a trustee and secretary of The Prairie School, an independent pre-kindergarten through 12th grade college preparatory school in Racine. He serves on the National Board of Visitors of The Les Aspin Center for Government at Marquette University.

Legal Work:
After finishing law school, Bob served two and a half years with the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps before joining the law firm which eventually became Hostak, Henzl & Bichler.

Bob serves individuals and entities in real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, and sales. Bob represents condominium developers and advises condominium association boards of directors.

Bob also helps people plan how they want their estates preserved and distributed and works with their families and corporate representatives in carrying out those plans. Bob’s business transactions work includes determining the appropriate business entity and helping in buying and selling businesses. He assists the owners of the business with management decisions.

Transactional work inevitably involves tax concerns which Bob handles, including tax advice, return preparation, and tax appeals.

As a transactions lawyer, Bob’s proudest achievement is drafting documents that clearly represent the intentions of the firm’s clients and lead to a successful conclusion of the transaction.
